Yang Style 108 Long Form

The Yang Style 108 Long Form is a traditional and widely practiced form in Tai Chi Chuan. It consists of a series of movements that flow seamlessly from one to the next. The names of the movements may differ from one instructor to another, but the movements are generally the same. It takes a long time to master the sequence but students can benefit from every practice if they keep the underlying principles in mind. The 24 form moves mostly east/west and the 108 form moves in all directions! Compare the names listed here with the movement names provided by your instructor/master. Note the number of times a movement is repeated (for example, Wave Hands Like Clouds) as the number or repeats change between forms 8, 24, 40 and 108. Also note if a movement is done on a diagonal or to the right rather than the left, etc.
